"Eagle," said James, pointing to a feather stuck to the window.
"Eagle!" said Daddy. "That's not even a seagull."
"Seagull," said James. "Cycle. Seagull motorcycle," said James.

James sat under the piano, flicking the amplifier switch on and off.
"What are you doing?" asked Daddy.
"Looking in the mirror," said James. He got up and ran out of the room, saying
"Gouda!"

James woke from his nap and was fussy for four minutes,
when suddenly he said "Bottle!"
He drank for two minutes and fussed for two minutes
when suddenly he said "Blanket!"
Under his blanket he finished the bottle.
He sat up and cooed, curled on the blanket,
closing, opening, and closing his eyes.
"Where did you come from?" asked Daddy.
"I come from Nap," said James.
"Where?" "Nap."

"Triangle!" shouted James, pointing at the sailboat coming into harbor.
"Sailboat!" Behind the boat was a barge carrying a crane on a platform,
and an excavator. Pushing the barge was a tug named "Kathleen."
