I WAS MIC'D
Kids ran through the musical number
Yelling "Feel free to knock," a blimp
Full of non-combat personnel waiting
For launch at the athletic fields.
I was seen thinking; you were smiling
In a mild rain. The train runs two blocks,
Connecting the resurgence of flutters
With the ripcord for social comment,
And into the bin goes the poesy.
"Smile, lifer," says one, and "Oh,
You know, past my sell date,
Do have a donut." The bridge is open
And they're not interested in loneliness.
You're fraying, but nevertheless go Swiss.
