MARS

The red planet isn't behaving the way it's supposed to tonight.

Three times I've fixed my vision on it; each time it's zoomed
A few beats after I had it identified.

Right now it's behind that tree on the edge of the property.

An airplane very high up is blinking about where it should be.

The bass of a slow-moving car accelerating on the access road
Is true to form; the fireflies made their rounds on schedule;
And the grasses were just as much higher today as they were
The day before. It was a sunny, dry, not too hot day. Perfect.
