1361

Morning requests your full attention.
You look up in the manual how to reset.

The stores are not yet open.
Flags are waving from the top of the hill.

Go ahead, sit in the window --
When you're frozen solid that practice staring will show.

Run for your life.
If you're standing still, call me

And I'll come help you hold some ground.
Children with automatic weapons

Are manning the toll booths.
"This is the cannon, and this is to hit things

That don't let people out into the world."
Risk corresponds to reward, and doing nothing

Is the biggest risk of all. Bend in the wind
Like a tower. Power always

Power always. Policemen stare into the car.
I used to think this demonstrated paranoia.

Maybe someday I'll remember it as exciting.
Right now, I want to get very close to the stage.

I want access to all my attention,
And to log my hours toward moving upward.
